My deepest condolences on your loss.
I had the pleasure of working for/with Al in Melville back in 1992-1993. While Al was an excellent boss, he was an even greater gentleman and treated everyone with respect and caring.
While I was only there for 10 months, Al took me under his wing and helped shape my career with his mentorship and ongoing support.
I know he will be missed by the many people that were fortunate enough to know Al.

I’m very sorry to hear of Allan’s passing. He was one of my earliest friends.
I first met Allan and his twin sister Susan when I was in Grade 2 (so the twins wouldn’t have started school yet). That winter the Bull family lived right across the back alley from the house my parents had rented for our first winter in Invermay. The day I met them, the Bull twins were playing in the snow in the back alley. For a few days I thought their names were Allan and Ellen.
Allan and I spent a lot of time together when we were kids – bike riding, skating, playing scrub, hockey and shooting. One spring I even tried to teach him French.
His family might not realize that Allan was an early environmentalist though perhaps his long term vision was a bit lacking. He didn’t like to see papers blowing around in the winter so he buried his candy bar wrappers in deep snow.

Dear Heather and family. I am so sorry to hear of Allan's passing. We also go back pretty far. My earliest memories are from when I lived in the hotel (so 5 or under) Allan and Susan had come to play. Susan decided it was time to go home. I didn't want them to leave so I stood in the doorway with my arms spread so they couldn't pass. Allan solved that problem by biting my finger. He showed initiative and great problem solving skills from a very young age! We went on to be good friends all through school. All the best. Myles Ferrie
