Obituary of Liz Juker (nee Lazurko)
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Elizabeth Harriet Lorraine Juker (Lazurko) who passed away peacefully on April 17, 2024 at the Kelowna General Hospital in British Columbia due to an unfortunate return of cancer which caused a sudden decline in her health. Liz was born on Yorkton on April 5, 1952 to Fred & Mary (Prybylski) Lazurko.
Liz is survived by two sisters & brothers-in-law; Christine & Jim Moger, Darlene & Alan Dzuba, brother & sister-in-law Christopher & MaryAnn Lazurko. Also to mourn her loss are many cherished nieces, nephews as well as great nieces, nephews, friends & neighbours.
Liz was an adventurous woman and an avid traveler, not staying in one place for very long. She was also passionate about animals and at the time of her passing Liz lived in Winfield, BC with her beloved cat Shamm who shared her life for 20 years. When she wasn’t with her animals or travelling Liz could be found tending to her beautiful flower garden or painting incredible portraits of family members, she was a very gifted artist.
Throughout her life Liz had several enjoyable careers but her favorite was cutting hair for the elderly in care homes.
Liz will also be remembered for her love of NFL football and her loyalty to the Vikings. Liz lived life in her own way and in typical Liz fashion.
Liz cared so deeply for the people around her. She was so kind & passionate and made an impact on many lives, she will be forever missed. Until we meet again.
There are no services planned, so we will celebrate her life quietly which is exactly how she would have it.
