Christine "Chrissy" Woods

Obituary of Christine "Chrissy" Woods

The family of Christine Ann Woods of Yorkton, sadly announce her passing on Sunday, June 9th, 2024. Christine was 64 years of age.

Chrissy as she was affectionately known by everyone who knew her, was born in Toronto Ontario, October 31st, 1959. The youngest of 3 children born to Francis and Christine (nee Pawluck) Woods.

After the passing of her father in 1961, the family moved to Yorkton. Chrissy lived with her family until she moved to Moose Jaw in 1972, where she resided at Valley View Training Center until it closed in 2018. From there she returned to Yorkton to Good Spirit Villa which became her home until her passing.

Chrissy was a bright shining star whose personality lit up a room, especially with those big beautiful brown eyes. She’d been referred to as an angel, however she had a mischievous side to her and loved to be the center of attention. Throughout her life she loved her outings with staff and friends. She loved music and teddy bears, but Hockey Night in Canada was her all time favorite.

She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Chrissy was predeceased by her parents Francis and Christine, her brother Michael, grandparents and many aunts and uncles. She leaves to celebrate her life her brother Will (Bev) and their children Michael (Cheyanna), Christine (Kyle) Olivia and Amelia, Cynthia (Dylan) Pyper and Billee, James (Erin) Riley and Ellis, sister in law Ann Woods and family and many cousins.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at YAIL Harbor and especially Good Spirit Villa. Also, thanks to the staff at Bailey’s Funeral Home for all their help and support throughout this difficult time.

The Memorial Service was held on Saturday, June 15, 2024 from the Yorkton Memorial Garrdens Family Centre with Doreen Day, Certified Celebrant officiating. The cross bearer was Christine Witow. Cynthia Woods read scripture and Will Woods shared a tribute. The interment followed in the Yorkton City Cemetery with Will Woods serving as urn bearer.
