Obituary of Jean Haubrick
Jean Charlotte (nee Bagg) Haubrick, June 30, 1937 - June 15, 2024
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jean Charlotte Haubrick, aged 86, of Moose Jaw.
Jean’s parents were Dorothy and Norman Bagg. They lived in Springside, SK, where she attended school from Grades 1-12. After graduation, Jean studied business at Yorkton Collegiate Institute and upon completion, started work at the Co-op Creamery in Yorkton. She transferred to Moose Jaw where she initially lived with her cousin Leona Shillington. While working at the creamery in Moose Jaw, she met her future husband, Frank Haubrick. They moved to Smithers, B.C. where Frank worked with his brother in law for CN Railway and Jean worked at a bank. They were married in Smithers and lived there for many years until they relocated to Vancouver where Jean worked as head of her department for the B.C. Dept of Highways. They lived in Vancouver until both she and Frank retired. They then moved to Regina and later back to Springside where they could be closer to Jean’s extended family.
When Frank passed away in 2000, Jean moved to Yorkton and spent a lot of time with her cousin Gerald Langley until he passed away in 2019. Jean then sold her home and moved into The Bentley, a seniors complex in Yorkton, and then later moved to The Bentley in Moose Jaw to be closer to her cousin Leona. With failing health, she moved to the Pioneer Lodge nursing home in Moose Jaw.
Jean enjoyed dancing, playing cards and visiting with family, both Frank’s family in B.C. and her family in Springside and Yorkton. She loved to watch curling and cheered on the various Saskatchewan teams as they competed in the many national events. She lived in beautiful homes, many of which Frank had built. Jean enjoyed close relationships with her older brother Ron and his family through the years and adored her grand nieces and nephews. Jean had many good friends who kept in touch with her throughout her life, and most especially her cousin Leona, who was a lifelong friend and support.
She was predeceased by husband Frank, parents Dorothy and Norman and brother Ron (Suzanne) of Calgary.
Jean is survived by her nephews; Brent (Deanne), Bruce (Ruth); niece Cynthia; her grand nieces and nephews Brooke, Sierra, Marina, Cohen, Sienna, Desmond and Serena; cousin Leona Shillington (Elwood) and family - Trent (Allison), Diane (Bill); cousin Gordon’s family - Al (Peggy), Debbie, Audrey, Donna (Glen) and Jeffery; cousin Mervin and Marjorie’s family - Robert, Gary (Ann), Blair (Judy), David (Coreen), Mona (Keith).
