Obituary of Ron Fogg

The family of Ron Fogg of Yorkton, beloved husband of Sharon Fogg, sadly announce his passing on Saturday, October 12, 2024. Ron was 67 years of age.

As per Ron's wishes, a private funeral service for immediate family only will be held.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Brayden Ottenbreit Close Cuts for Cancer or to the Yorkton Terriers Hockey Club as gifts of remembrance.

Ron was born on July 15, 1957 in Invermay, SK to George and Isabelle Fogg. He grew up on the family farm and attended school in Invermay. During that time, he enjoyed playing hockey and running around with his brothers.

In 1975 he met the love of his life Sharon Kucheran at the Theodore Sports Days. They married the next summer on July 24th 1976. They welcomed their first son Chad, on May 25th, 1992 and their second son Brayden arrived October 7th, 1993. They took many family vacations, mostly ending up west to spend time in the mountains of British Columbia. Soon those vacations were mostly enjoyed in the winter time at the rink as he coached and spectated both sons playing hockey. He received the title Grandpa, as his grandson, Bryson was born on September 23rd, 2021. One of the greatest joys was the bond he shared with his grandson. He took that role with great gratitude and loved spending time with him.

Moving into his adult life he started working in Yorkton at Morris Rod Weeder in 1974. After a couple lay offs from Morris, Ron started his career at the Locomart as a cart boy working his way to assistant manager within 6 months. It didn’t take him long to make his next step as Store Manager of IGA which later changed hands to Sobey’s for years to come. He switched roles later on in his life to Canada Post where he got a mail run from Yorkton to Watson where he made some great friends along the way.

Ron was a proud supporter of the local junior team the Yorkton Terriers, being a season ticket holder for almost 40 years. There weren’t very many games he didn’t attend. He was a quiet, humble person that didn’t like to attract to himself. He would drop anything to help someone out and did more for others than he did himself.

Ron was predeceased by his parents: George and Isabelle Fogg, mother-in-law Victoria Kucheran and father-in-law William (Bill) Kucheran, brother Reg and sister-in-law Marianne Fogg.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon of 48 years. His children and grandchildren: Chad (Crystal), Brayden (Terri, Bryson)

His brothers: Don (Jan), Jeff (Yvonne), and Gerard (Stacey)

His in laws: Lawrence (Noella) and Ron Kucheran. Along with many nephews, nieces and great nephews and nieces.
