Obituary of Ashley 'Wendy' Duffy

Ashley Wendy Louise Duffy was born on December 10th, 1945 in Vancouver BC. She was long time partner of over 40+ years to Larry Duffy, Mother to Karen and John, Grandmother ( aka "Nannie" ) to Darien and Brayden, along with Darien's wife Samantha, and great "Nannie" to Charlie, Talia and Baby on the way. Ashley "Wendy" will also be remembered by living sisters Daphne Josephson and Judy Alexander, her other children Fiona Barclay, Karen Wasylyshen and Kyle Allen, and six other grandchildren. Ashley was loved by many, and will be deeply missed. Ashley always spoke her mind no matter the topic, and stood firm on her beliefs. She was very smart, witty, and loved to have a good laugh to some dry humour. Ashley lived with Larry in Calgary, Alberta for many years where they first met. They also lived in Oshawa Ontario for many years, where Ashley made life long friends with, Dawn Mitchell, and Komal Badar, whom she loved like family. Ashley was a long time employee of over ten years at "Sears" for the "Bedding & Appliance" department, until she retired to look after her special needs son, John. After retirement, she moved to Ituna SK to be closer to her grandkids. While living her years in Ituna, she looked after the healthcare of John, in her own home right up until his unfortunate passing. She was an amazing caregiver, and he was very lucky to have her, as we all were. Ashley was always the one to hold family events or holidays where she would cook up a storm. She loved having family and friends over to entertain. Ashley was a simple woman who loved a good cup of coffee, good music, and conversation with good company. She was unbelievably hard working, and always offered wise, experienced advice to anyone in need. Ashely is irreplaceable, and this loss is an untimely tragedy. She will never be forgotten. After working so hard for so many people in your life, we all hope you finally get the peaceful rest you deserve. Service Details.
