It is with great sadness that the family of Walter Clarence Kohlenberg announces his peaceful passing at the Ituna Pioneer Lodge the morning of Wednesday November 20th at the age of 81.

Walter was born in Melville, Saskatchewan on May 26,1943 to Michael and Clara (nee Bitterman). He received his education at Wallacetown School until he was old enough to work full-time on the family farm.

When he wasn’t busy with chores around the farm, he could often be found horseback riding with his sister Eileen, shooting gophers or socializing with his friends and cousins.

Walter married Marlene Seib in 1972, and they were blessed with two sons, Wade in 1974 and Kurt in 1982.

In Walter’s younger years, he was an avid sportsman. When he wasn’t busy working on the farm, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and archery. He shared his love of the outdoors with his boys; and the opening day of whitetail season was just as exciting as Christmas morning.

Walter was also a collector of all things. He could often be found perusing garage sales, looking for hats, books, or other trinkets and collectibles that caught his eye.

In Walter’s later years, he enjoyed visits with friends and family, reading western pocketbooks, biographies and hunting magazines.

Walter was predeceased by his parents, Michael and Clara, his sister Eileen Warner, and brother-in law Allan Warner.

Walter is survived by his sons Wade(Heather); Kurt(Melissa); grandchildren Deklan Kohlenberg, Chaise, Destin and Lena Kohlenberg; mother to his children, Marlene Kohlenberg; as well as numerous, nephews, nieces, extended family members and friends.
