Mary Miller was born May 20, 1938 to Mathias and Veronica Kuntz. She was the sixth of ten children, 5 boys and 5 girls. The family farmed in the Grayson area and Mary worked hard alongside her parents and siblings to maintain the farm. Mary had early aspirations of becoming a teacher and taught Catechism as a young woman. She was raised a strong Catholic and maintained her faith throughout her life. She did not however pursue the path of teaching but began working at the Royal Bank. She later met Al Miller in Melville and the two were married in 1963. They would have five children together, Dwayne, Scott, Gwen, Donna, and Shelley.

Mary’s children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were her absolute joy as family was everything to her. She remained the family anchor throughout her life, encouraging family get togethers and keeping everyone informed of each other’s activities and news. She was able to soothe many colic grandchildren with her magic touch! Mary loved crafting and sewing, passing along her gifts to her children and sharing her talents with others by creating beautiful garments and items that she sold at numerous craft sales for many years.

Mary had a long career with SK Power and retired at age 65. She enjoyed this job very much in serving her customers and in the camaraderie she shared with her coworkers. In retirement, Mary and Al spent their time at their cabin at Crooked Lake where family and friends gathered for many years. They later settled back into Melville where Mary was able to live out her remaining time living independently in her home, with family support. Mary entered her eternal rest peacefully, on November 24, 2024 after a brief hospital stay with family by her side.

She was predeceased by her husband Alvin Miller (April 1, 2021), parents Mathias and Veronica Kuntz, siblings: Anton, Clemence, Philip, Benedict, Pius, Elizabeth, Karolina, and Agatha with surviving sister Ammorina. She leaves to mourn her loving and adoring children, Dwayne (Shawna), Matthew and Nichole (Sadie, Weston, Colter), Jordan and Gwynneth (Aiden, Lennon), Carter; Scott (Lois), Nicole; Gwen (Lee), Olivia and Cody, Samuel, Eric and Tali (Savannah and Dominic); Donna (Garth), Davis and Tori (Ella, Kai), Chandler and Kayla; and Shelley (Modi), Omar.
