Annie Padar

Obituary of Annie Padar

We the family of Ann Padar are honoured and thankful that you have taken time out of your busy lives to say good bye to our mom, grandma and great grandma.

Ann was born on October 29, 1934. The eldest daughter to Steve and Lucy Muzyka at their family farm in the McKim District.

Mom’s description of that time included early mornings of milking cows, long walks to and from school and helping out not only on their farm but on her grandmother’s as well.

During these years she was a back catcher for the local softball team and blamed that for her knee pain in later years.

She was married in June 1953 to Rudy Padar. They embarked on a life of shared dreams and steadfast support. They had two children, Myrna 1953 and Ray in 1956.

She worked side by side with my dad no matter what the job was never backing down no matter how hard the job was.

In 1970 she started her first job at St. Paul Lutheran Home as a nursing aide. She juggled a job, a huge garden, motherhood and being a farm hand. In 1980 they built their house in town, now she didn’t have to make the long drive to and from work. In 1995 Ann retired from her job.In 1981 her first grandchild was born quickly followed by three more. They were her pride and joy. She enjoyed watching them play, hockey, baseball, soccer, basketball and volleyball. In 2013 her first great grandchild was born and now has 3 boys and 2 girls.

In May of 2014 my dad passed away after 62 years of marriage. Mom faced a new chapter in life. She remained in her home for two years after Rudy passed, then sold it and moved into Main Street Manor. Her son Ray died in 2017. In 2023 her strength decreased and by January 2024 she was lucky enough to get a room at St. Paul Lutheran Home.

She enjoyed gardening, visiting with family and friends, playing cards, watching TV, sports and crocheting. “I think every niece and nephew received an afghan she made.” In her spare time she began volunteering at the thrift shop and catering funeral lunches for the CWL. Ann and Rudy were lucky enough to take several bus trips and visits to BC to see friends and relatives. Ann entered her eternal rest peacefully on Sunday, December 15, 2024 at the age of 90 years.

Predeceased by her husband, Rudy; son, Ray; two infant sons at birth; her parents, Steve and Lucy Muzyka and her sister, Agnas Farkas.

Ann is survived by her daughter, Myrna Lang and daughter-in-law, Sandra Padar; her four precious grandchildren, Michael Lang, Stephanie (Troy) Grisbrook, Ryan Padar and Reece Padar; her five great grandchildren, Zach, Zane and Zander Padar and Rowan and Halle Grisbrook; her brother, Steve (Diane) Muzyka; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
