Obituary of Ruby Marina Pedde
The family of Ruby Pedde of Yorkton, beloved wife of the late Ervin Pedde sadly announce her passing on Tuesday, December 17, 2024. Ruby was 89 years of age.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, December 20 at 1:00p.m. from Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre with Rev. Fr. Basil Malowany officiating.
The interment will follow in the Garden of Crucifixion, Yorkton Memorial Gardens.
Memorials in memory of Ruby may be made to the Yorkton Regional Health Centre for Cardiac Care (C/O 14 Betts Ave., Yorkton, SK S3N 1M1) or St. Mary's Building Fund ( C/O 155 Catherine St., Yorkton, SK S3N 0B9) as gifts of remembrance.

It is with deepest sadness that the family of Ruby Marina Pedde announce her passing on December 17, 2024 in Yorkton, SK at the age of 89. Ruby was born on February 4, 1935, to John and Ann Smerchynski in Yorkton, SK. She lived on the family farm in the Fonehill district with her parents and four siblings. She spent her childhood years helping on the farm and at the Fonehill store owned by her parents. During these years she met and fell in love with her childhood neighbor, Ervin. They were married in the summer of 1955 and were blessed with three children, Dwayne, Brian, and Lynn. Raising their children brought many joyful gatherings, celebrations and memories.
In Ruby’s younger days, she worked as a store clerk at various businesses. Her greatest joy, however, was being a mother and a homemaker. Ruby was a wonderful baker and cook. She always made sure there was extra for her special care packages that she gave to neighbors, family and friends. She treasured her time with family and friends and always looked forward to quality time spent with loved ones.
In 1996 she lost the love of her life, Ervin, and never let a day go by without speaking his name. Her heart was broken when her son, Brian, passed in 2016.
She lived on her own on Jubiliee Cres until the end of August 2024, at which point she fell ill and began focusing her mind on returning to God and her loved ones that had parted before her.
In the last days we had with her she was at peace knowing she would be in her beloved Ervin’s arms again. She was greatly loved and will be deeply missed.
Ruby is predeceased by her beloved, Ervin, and son, Brian and brother Vern. She is survived by her son Dwayne (Joyce), daughter Lynn (Marcel), daughter-in-law Sharon (Darrell), and her beloved grandchildren, great grandchildren, sister Della, brothers Gerry & Terry as well as nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
