Obituary
Obituary of Stanley Korb
The family of Stanley Korb sadly announce his passing on Sunday, November 7, 2021. He was 86 years of age.
Stanley was born on November 17, 1934 in Rhein, SK. He was the oldest of seven children born to Alex and Susan (Pfiefer). Stanley moved away from home at a fairly young age. He lived in Winnipeg, Toronto, Thunder Bay, Yorkton and recently Kamsack.
Music was a big part of Stan's life, which he pursued in his younger years. He worked at a radio station where he set the program up for the day and did "voice overs", played the guitar (bass), had a collection of 4,000 records and even made his own record. While in Ontario working, he was employed as a book keeper.
Stanley was a shy, quiet person. He spent a lot of time reading, especially suspense novels and tried to keep up with world news. He was intelligent and very observant, taking time to stop and smell the roses. Stan enjoyed feeding birds in his back yard. Even when he could no longer do that, he still thought of them. He never drove a vehicle in his life, but managed to travel all over the place.
Stanley was proud of his brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. Many laughs were shared together. (He did have a cute laugh!) When he moved to Queen Elizabeth Court, he enjoyed going for brunch every Sunday with the "Sunday Brunch Gang". Stanley loved Jesus and was ready to finally meet Him face to face.
Stanley is predeceased by his parents Alex and Susan, sisters Wilma (Ed) Zabowski and Elaine (Ray) Salyn, his brother Raymond Korb, sister-in-law Ann Korb, and nephews Kevin Korb and Chris Salyn. Left to cherish his memory are his brother Roland Korb, sister Almina (Louis) Cailloux, brother Dave (Henrietta) Korb, sister-in-law Barb Korb as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
"We'll miss you. Rest in Peace."
