Obituary of Nettie Yasinski

The family of Nettie Yasinski, of Wroxton, beloved wife of the late Mervin Yasinski, sadly announce her passing on September 25, 2021. The Funeral Service will take place on Friday, October 1, 2021 at 11:00 am from the Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre. The interment will follow in the Garden of Crucifixion, Yorkton Memorial Gardens. Nettie Bertha was born on September 30, 1929 in Tuffnell, Sk., to parents Nick and Emma (nee Wodal) Scramstead. She was the oldest of five children (Margret, Bernice, Joyce and Wilfred). Nettie worked at the Yorkton Union Hospital for a few years, until she was 21 years old. She married Mervin Yasinski in 1950. She quit work at the hospital and stayed home to work on the farm and raise her four children, Garry, Beverly, Vernon and Shelly. In 1980, Nettie went to work at Zellers where she was a cook. She retired from Zellers in 1998 and went to work as a cook at Wappell Construction in Regina for seven years. Nettie enjoyed dancing, bingo, socializing and cooking for family and friends. She met Steve Ryzak and a longtime companionship bloomed for many years. Sadly, Nettie was admitted to the Kamsack Nursing Home on December 4, 2009, at the age of 80 years, where she resided for 11 years. Nettie passed away peacefully on September 25, 2021, five days short of her 92nd birthday. Nettie is predeceased by her parents Nick and Emma, her husband Mervin (1983), children; Garry (1971), Beverly (1974) and Vernon (2014) and her sister Margret. She is survived by her daughter Shelly (Allan), daughter in law Shelley, and grandchildren, Brayden, Nicholas, Cody and Anna. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. The Funeral Service was held on Friday, October 1, 2021 from the Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre with Doreen Day, Certified Celebrant officiating. Musical selections shared were "Till I'm Too Old to Die Young" by Moe Bandy and "The Dance" by Garth Brooks. The interment followed in the Garden of Crucifixion, Yorkton Memorial Gardens with Nicholas Demchuk serving as urn bearer. Service Details.
