Obituary of Merne Ardith Grumbo

The family of Ardith Grumbo of Melville, widow of John Grumbo announce her passing on Tuesday, May 25, 2021. She was 77 years of age. There will be no service at this time. Merne Ardith Grumbo born on January 31, 1944 in Cartwright, Manitoba. Daughter of Isla and Alvin Hodgson passed on May 25th , 2021 in Melville, SK at the care home after a long illness. Merne married John Grumbo on Nov 7, 1966. Merne was a homemaker for her entire married life caring for her children. Her favorite hobbies were to do word searches, cross-stitch and to read. Merne leaves to mourn her passing her children: Janette (Joe) Desjarlais, Danny Grumbo (Darlene), Kim Laliberte (Pat), Kevin Grumbo, and Tracy Emke (Don). Merne also leaves her brother Garth Hodgson (Lorraine), and younger sister Merrill Hodgson. Merne leaves her grandchildren (Danny's) Michael Ashford (Alyssa), Dani Albert (Ben), Theo Albert (Tina), Michael Laliberte (Samantha), Zachary Laliberte (Gayle), Bobbi-Leigh Grumbo (Wes), Tyrell Almasi, Samantha Grumbo, Andrew Phillimore (Nicole Gaddie), Joshua Emke (Tiffany), Brittany Emke (Marvin). Merne also left her Great Grandkids - Michael Jr. Ashford, Marcellus Ashford, Mila Ashford, Zaiden Emke-Pasker, Abigail Hankins, Olivia Hankins, Hunter Hankins, Noah Hankins, Lincoln Emke, Benjamin Emke, Allana Phillimore. Numerous nieces and nephews are also left behind. Predeceased by her husband John Grumbo, her youngest son Robert Grumbo, both her parents, Isla and Alvin Hodgson, her twin sister Ferne Ramsey, and older sister Carol Sunde. At this time the family is not having a funeral service, a family service will be announced in the future.
