Obituary of Beverley Velichka

The family of Beverley Velichka of Yorkton, beloved wife of the late Alex Velichka, sadly announce her passing on April 12, 2021 at the age of 70 years. A family graveside service will be held at a later date in the Garden of Crucifixion, Yorkton Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations may be made to Paws & Claws Animal Rescue (Box 1047, Yorkton, SK., S3N 2X3) as gifts of remembrance. Beverley Olga Velichka was born on April 17, 1950 in Simcoe Ontario, the second oldest of seven children born to Norman and Olga (nee Bachewich) O'Dell. Being that her father Norman was in the army, the family moved all over Canada. They moved from Ontario to British Columbia and then settled in Saskatchewan. Beverley was united in marriage to Alex Velichka on January 13, 1968. Their union was blessed with a daughter, Sheila. Beverley worked as a Care Aide for over thirty years at the Theodore Health Centre. She was a very dedicated employee and enjoyed her career. She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening and tending to her flowers and cherished the time spent with her nieces and nephews. Beverley loved dogs, especially Sheila's two dogs, Spencer and Greta. Beverley passed away on April 12, 2021 at the Yorkton Regional Health with her beloved daughter Sheila at her side. Beverley is predeceased by both her parents, her husband Alex and nephew Bryan O'Dell. She leaves to mourn her passing and celebrate her life her daughter Sheila Velichka; sisters, Susan (Ed) Ollenberg, Shirley Wlock and Debbie (Sylvester Hrynkiw) O'Dell; brothers, Doug (Gail) O'Dell, Kenneth (Christine) O'Dell and Osbourne (Dorothy) O'Dell as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
