Obituary of Lorne G. Dobko

It is with great sadness that the family announce the passing of Lorne on April 5, 2021. Left to mourn in Lorne's memory is his loving wife of 41 years, Dinah (nee Wolfram) his children Tammy (Bernie), Matthew, Wendy (Paul), Sally (Rob), His grandchildren Serenity, Paige, Kenden, Landen, Mandison, Hayden, Melody, his brothers Matt and Kelly and numerous special friends. Lorne was born in Yorkton to Adela Young (nee Dobko), he started his education in a one room country school near York Lake (which was uphill both ways) and completed his Grade 12 at Yorkton Regional High School (where he earned passing grades for fixing his teacher's vehicles). From a young age he found his calling in restoring classic cars; his talents however did not end with autobody and mechanics, he was a jack of all trades including welding, engineering, and woodworking. It was not an uncommon occurrence to have people drop by the farm to get his expert advice where he could be found "tinkering" in his shop. Throughout his life, Lorne enjoyed raising his family on their hobby farm. From bottle feeding calves to raising pigs, chickens, ducks and geese or making hay all summer long there never was a shortage of things to do on the homestead and Lorne spent each day doing what he was passionate about. "Dad if love could have saved you, you would have lived forever." Service Details.
