Helen was born in the Invermay/Rama Saskatchewan district on July 30, 1930, the daughter of Metro and Doris (Pulak) Trach. She was the 5th of 9 children. She moved to Hamilton, Ontario with her parents and siblings at the age of 12. There she worked at Tuckett Tobacco Factory in 1948 and 1949. She moved back to Saskatchewan to help her sister, Rose, cook for a bush camp. It was there she met George Rupchan. They were married September 20, 1950 and together they were blessed with 4 children – Robert, Shirley, Gerald and David. They lived in Reserve, Saskatchewan until their move in 1959 to Usherville, Saskatchewan to operate “Georges Esso Service” as well as farming. Selling the Service Station in 1973, they still continued to farm in the Usherville/Endeavour area until their move to Yorkton, Saskatchewan in 2003. Helen was again in the city where she loved shopping and walking the mall. She had a strong faith and was an active member of St. Gerard Roman Catholic Parish and the CWL making many perogies. During her life she made and served many delicious meals to everyone that entered her home. They would not leave without a meal and drink. On the farm, she worked hard with her share of work in farming, gardening and preserving her abundant vegetable garden and preserving the fish they caught on their many fishing trips to McBride and Pepaw Lakes. Her love of travel, took her to Medjugorje, Bosnia (Catholic Pilgrimage) with her sister Martha, to Hawaii with her niece Paula and George and Helen to Vegas with friends. She enjoyed making quilts, knitting, crocheting and collecting antiques. She loved playing Bingo and wouldn’t miss a local game night. She couldn't miss The Rib Tickler on GX Radio, hearing the answers and guessing many times and winning a few times. In 2018 she moved to Regina to be close to her children and grandchildren. Helen was predeceased by her parents, her siblings: Anastasia, Mike, Rose, Paul, Martha, Edward, George and Henry and her husband George in 2004.
