Obituary of Wesley Dwight Pelletier

Wesley Dwight Pelletier was born on December 28, 1944 at Saltcoats, Saskatchewan; the youngest of three children born to Zelda and Alphonse Pelletier. He received his education in Bredenbury till grade 8, then began working for farmers, doing combining, seeding, baling, and hauling bales. He often helped his dad working in a feedlot. As a young man Wes ventured west to Alberta, and for some time lived in Calgary, working in the steel industry, and learning the drywall trade. He eventually returned to Saskatchewan and decided to take a shoe making course in Esterhazy, then on to Regina where he drove taxi and hauled appliances. Although Wes never had children of his own he loved all his nieces and nephews and treated them like his own. He was very proud when he became a great-great-great uncle. Wes was a quiet, unassuming individual, he eventually settled in the small community of Goodeve, settling in to retirement, doing odd jobs for the people there, including fixing and repairing small engines. He would be constantly puttering around with his vehicle, even if there was nothing wrong with it, but you could be sure there was something that needed fixing after Wes got his hands on it, usually a phone call to Dave was needed to make it right. He greatly enjoyed the times spent with his sister in Springside, playing black jack on the internet and then get so mad he'd swear at the TV. He often stopped for a visit at his brothers home in Springside as well, just to check in and say hello. The stories the brothers would tell in younger years at parties were legendary. Wes also loved to fish but only if they were biting, he didn't like to waste gas if he wasn't going to catch a few. But he really just enjoyed being in the outdoors, as he often took long drives in the country, many times picking up his sister Adeline, and often returned to see his old home in Bredenbury. Predeceased by his parents, Zelda and Alphonse; his longtime partner Lorna; a sister Diane (infancy); a brother Brian (Mitch); niece Peggy; brother-in-law Robert; great nephew Vince; and numerous aunts and uncles. He is survived by his sister Adeline Pelletier of Springside; his brother Harvey (Mary) Pelletier of Springside; many nieces and nephews; a special aunt, Rose Pelletier of Moose Jaw; and many cousins; also his good neighbors, Gordon, Alice and Abbey, who held a special place in his heart, whom he spoke of often.
