Dear Bill & family We are sorry of hearing of Shirley's passing but know that she is bubbling & bouncing on a piano bench in heaven. No one on the planet has had more joy & enthusiasm when singing for their Savior. When I, Randy, went through some dark times in my life, Shirley pulled me up & prayed me through. My family and I are so sorry to have heard of Shirley's passing. There are so many great remembrances, too numerous to site all . They go back to when Bill was courting her, and we worked at the hospital in Melville where I first met her and Elsie. What beautiful ladies. No words can express the loss and heartbreak we feel with the passing of our dear precious friend, 'Momma Shirley.' Shirley was not just a faithful friend but she filled the role of a second Mom to Ken and I and we are forever grateful! We spent many times laughing and crying together and her thoughtfulness, prayers and helping hand always reached out when trouble came our way. We cherish the ten years spent in Yorkton at our church where Shirley faithfully served with her God given gift of music. Music wasn't her only amazing talent, Momma could cook!!! There was never a shortage of perogies, cabbage rolls, Nachinka and bundles of love, joy and generosity that came with it!! Shirley loved the Lord more than anything else which was evident in her thoughts, words and deeds. Her Godly love, care, compassion and generosity have touched the lives of so many that knew and loved her dearly. Momma Shirley will be deeply missed! Rest peacefully until we meet again! God bless you Bill and family. It is so hard to know what to say to comfort you with this great loss. I do want to say that Alida and I have so many wonderful memories of you folks. Shirley's generosity and love to serve was so evident. When we had our Board Meetings at your home she prepared enough for 20 people as a snack - there were 4 of us. Her cooking and baking was from her loving heart. Her laughter and grin was always ready to pop out when needed... and we all needed that at times.
