Sending my deepest sympathy. I always enjoyed coming to pick up birdhouses for our Preeceville Wildlife Club and having a visit with Elgin. He was a very nice man and will forever be remembered by the many birdhouses hanging around our town and campground.. Rest In Peace Elgin.

Dear Carol and family, Is it really almost a year since Elgin went ahead? He still seems so present in the many thing he made and the stories he told. Through the Covid quarantine last winter, we went to the cabin a few times, built a fire and relaxed there. We had time to study the many cupboards that Elgin built, and see the details in the decor. It was a pleasure. We think of you often, and wish you the best in your healing journey, Leroy & Rosalie Penner

Our hearts have sadness upon hearing of Elgin's passing. Many memories come and here is just a couple. Elgin spent much time at his cabin just back of our place and he was almost like a family member wheeling up to the shop to say hello. Sometimes it was just a 10 minute visit and other times it was an hour. I could tell his family was very dear and close to him through those visits. He had a cute habit of addressing Carol as "mom". It spoke of a family closeness to me. In his later years as he would come the cabin on beaver patrol and we identified his truck by the little sand bags outside on his hood. "To stop a hood rattle" he would say! And yes you as family and friends are in our thoughts and prayers. Elgin will be missed!

Our sympathies to you, Carol, Mitch and Michelle. It has been enriching to have known and loved Elgin. His memory will live on in his cabin here and the work he did. We admired his ingenuity in his wood craft and customizing his possessions including his quad. We are also thankful for the help he gave on our farm. May God be with you as you continue on. Love and prayers, Leroy & Rosalie Penner

Our Deepest Sympathy to Carol and Family at this sad time! When we were involved with the Yorkton Wildlife he was such an amazing hard working and dedicated volunteer but fun to work with. Since we moved to Melville we looked forward to visiting at hockey games either here or there and I usually got a big hug anytime I would be working the gate here :) So sorry for your loss and big hugs to all!!!
