Obituary of Joseph "Joe" Dorosh

DOROSH - Joe Dorosh, widower of Irene Dorosh, formerly of Ituna passed away peacefully on August 19, 2020 surrounded by family on August 19, 2020 at the age of 89. He will be greeted in heaven by his beloved wife Irene and granddaughter Renee. Joe was born on October 19, 1930 to Nick and Michalina (nee Bezruchka) Dorosh. He was raised on the farm and attended Lunnville School. Joe married Irene Yaschuk on July 12, 1953. After moves to Toronto and Vancouver, they returned to reside on the Dorosh farm and raise their 3 children. Joe farmed and worked for the Dept. of Highways while collecting antiques was a favorite pass time. Years later they retired from the farm building a new house in Ituna. However they returned back to the farm until later moving between Regina and Ituna. Joe returned to Regina after Irene's passing in 2012 and was currently living at William Booth Care Home. Joe is predeceased by his parents, his wife Irene, granddaughter Renee Popadynetz and his siblings - Bob Dorosh, Olga Burant, Stella Kotack, Nettie Hutcheon and Muriel Rogan. To cherish his memory his children: Coleen Popadynetz, Wayne Dorosh, Darcy (Gayl) Dorosh; grandchildren: Ryna (Jason) Wiebe, Letitia (Junior) Maese, and Samuel Dorosh; great-granddaughter: Kennedy McBain; His siblings: Pat Marchuk, Orest (Rosalie) Dorosh and Iris Karapita (Dan) along with numerous relatives and friends. The Funeral Service was celebrated on Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at Sacred Heart Ukrainian Catholic Church in Ituna with Rev. Father Basil Malowany officiating. The responses were led by Ladmer Moskal, Wayne Boczulak and Heidi Spilchuk. The cross bearer was Kennedy McBain and the epistle reader was Letitia Maese. A eulogy was conveyed by Ryna Wiebe. The interment took place in Sacred Heart Parish Cemetery with Wayne Dorosh, Darcy Dorosh, Konnie Wenc, Garry Wenc, Wayne Boczulak and Ladmer Moskal as the casket bearers.
