Obituary of Robert "Bob" Swerhun

The family of Robert Swerhun of Edmonton, son of Anna & the Late William Swerhun of Calder, sadly announce his passing on Friday, June 5, 2020 at the age of 68 years. Due to current public health restrictions a Family Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday, June 17 at 11:00a.m. from Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre with Crystal Bailey officiating. SWERHUN - It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Robert (Bob) Swerhun, of Edmonton, Alberta on June 5th, 2020. Bob was 68 years old. Bob was born on August 14, 1951 to Bill and Anne Swerhun of Calder. He attended Minerva, MacNutt and Calder Schools and graduated from Yorkton Regional High School. Bob's working life took him to various points in Manitoba, Alberta and for sometime in North West Territories. Bob was greatly loved by his family and leaves to mourn his mother, Anne Swerhun of Yorkton, Saskatchewan, his brother David (Donna) Swerhun of Boyle, Alberta, his sister Bonny (Neil) Maddaford of Yorkton, Saskatchewan, his nieces Alanna of Edmonton, Alberta, Carissa of Yorkton, Saskatchewan and nephew, Jonathan of Calgary, Alberta. Bob is survived by his Aunt Genevieve McLeod, Aunt Gail Marteniuk and many cousins and their families. Bob was predeceased by his father, William Swerhun of Yorkton, Saskatchewan and predeceased by both his maternal and paternal grandparents of Calder and Yorkton, Saskatchewan. The Funeral Service was held on Wednesday, June 17th at Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre with Crystal Bailey, Certified Celebrant officiating. The eulogy was conveyed by Donna Swerhun. The interment followed in the Garden of Devotion at Yorkton Memorial Gardens with Terry Marteniuk, Gerald Shymko, Carl Kohut and Don Tkachuk serving as the casket bearers.
