Obituary of Arthur "Art" Honcia

It is with heavy hearts we announce the unexpected passing of Arthur Jerry Honcia. Art was born in Poland on December 28, 1965 and moved to Canada with his family in 1977. From a very early age Art showed interest in anything electronic, always taking things apart then putting them together again. He pursued his passion and went to a technical school in Moose Jaw to become an Electronic Technician. After school he started out with his own electronic repair business. He furthered his career by starting work at the Yorkton TV station followed by Lloydminster and then Global TV Regina. He was always "the guy behind the scenes" at concerts and major sporting events making sure everything ran smoothly. Art had an incredible amount of talent and took pride in all that he did. He was truly a jack-of-all trades and master of electronics. Art loved the outdoors and spending time with family and friends, whether it was fishing, boating or simply sharing stories around a campfire. He loved making people smile and laugh with his magic tricks and anecdotes. He had a generous nature, always willing to lend a hand when needed. He will be greatly missed by many. Art was predeceased by his father Jerry Honica. He is survived by his mother Stella Honcia; brother Henry (Myrna); sister Eva (Wade) Magnusson and their children Bryanne and Brandon; sister Yvonne (Clint) Kindiak and their children Ethan and Carson. Cremation has taken place through Victoria Ave. Funeral Home in Regina and a private family service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made in Art's name to Diabetes Canada (919B Albert St, Regina, SK S4R 2P6) as gifts of remembrance.
