Obituary of Sharon Jane Anhalt

Sharon Jane Anhalt (Lang), beloved wife of Edward Anhalt of Yorkton, Sask., passed away after a short battle with cancer on Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2019 at Yorkton Regional Health Centre at the age of 66 years. Sharon was born on July 14, 1953 in Melville. She was the oldest child born to Harold and Imgard Lang (nee Schreiber). Growing up on the family farm south of Goodeve, she attended Robert School and later at Goodeve School completing her education at Melville High School. After school she began her working career in Yorkton where she met her life partner Edward at the Met store in 1970. Sharon and Edward were married on March 18, 1977, and were blessed with 3 children. Most of Sharon's life was spent in Yorkton. She worked with the public throughout her working career and met many people who became very good friends of hers. She could strike up a conversation with anyone. Sharon was very active throughout her life as a 30 year member with the Army & Navy Ladies Auxiliary. Bowling was also a favourite of hers, which she did with her dad as well as her 3 children in a league. Going to bingo every weekend when her mom came to Yorkton became a must for her. She loved music and especially Country music. When she was younger she would always have the latest Greatest Hits album that came out. Family was most important to her and she cherished every moment she had with them. She always tried to make sure her family was together, and was always there to lend a helping hand or give advice. During the summer months Sharon loved to go "cruising" with Ed in their convertible and the top had to be down. Meeting for coffee in the summer was also a favourite of Sharon's, as long as they could enjoy sitting outside. Sharon is predeceased by her father, Harold Lang (November 24, 2013) and a sister Connie in infancy, grandparents Mike & Olga Lang and Albert & Martha Schreiber. Sharon is survived by her husband of 42 years, Edward, as well as her children: Crystal (Shane), Lee, Chad (Linda), 7 grandsons, Luc (Bailey), Kyle, Hunter (Willow), and Dakota Liebrecht, Andrew, Jessie and Tanner Anhalt, 1 great grandson Mason Liebrecht-Roy. She is also survived by her Mom (Imgard Lang), brothers and sisters: Larry (Brenda), Laura (George) Luby, Joanne (Gary) Salamon, Dale (Rita). nieces and nephews, Michael, Krista (Rory), Bobbi & Ryan, Scott (Kristin), Keith (Pamela), Chris (Kaitlynn), Melissa (Scott), Bradley & Kimberly together with her great nieces and nephews, special friend Corine Moffat (Byron), and her family Rebecca, Tyler, Evan and Emily. Mom will be sadly missed by all who knew her, but her spirit will live in our hearts forever. Service Details.
