Obituary of Steffania "Steffa" Pawlust

Mrs. Steffania "Steffa" Pawlust of Ituna, beloved wife of John Pawlust passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at the age of 88 years. The funeral will be held on Saturday, October 26 at 10:00a.m. at Holy Ghost Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Ituna. The interment will follow in the Parish Cemetery. Memorials in memory of Steffa may be made to the Holy Ghost Ukrainian Orthodox Church or the Pioneer Lodge or Ituna Social Club. PAWLUST - Steffa Pawlust of Ituna, beloved wife of John passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at the Ituna Pioneer Health Care Centre at the age of 88. Stephania (Steffa) Pawlust was one of eleven children born to John and Irene (Joswa) Leontowich. On May 9, 1954 she was united in marriage to John Pawlust. They farmed in the Ituna district until their retirement. Steffa's passions along the way were visiting with family and friends, cooking, bingo and visiting the casino on occasion. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband John of 65 years; her daughter Nancy (Terry), sons Larry (Grace) and Bob (Shelley); grandchildren Kris (Carrie), Josh (Erica) and Max (Sarah); great grandchildren Bennett, Paityn and Mason; brother Bill; sister Katie; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of the Ituna Lodge for the care and kindness they showed for Steffa. The funeral service was held on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at Holy Ghost Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Ituna with Rev. Father Michael Faryna officiating. The cantor Yvonne Panchuk led the responses. The crossbearer was Carrie Hardowa. The interment followed in the Parish Cemetery with Kris Miller, Josh Miller, Max Pawlust, Sarah Pawlust, Terry Pawlust and Myron Pawlust serving as the casket bearers. Memorials in Steffa's memory may be made to Holy Ghost Church, Ituna Pioneer Lodge or the Social Club.
