Bob (Robert) Gordon MacDonald, age 70, passed away peacefully on Nov 8th, 2022. Husband to Launa, father to Derek & Neil and grandfather to a very special grandson, Gabriel. Bob was born to John & Peggy MacDonald, formally of Ebenezer. First brother to his 4 adoring sisters. He was adorable with beautiful eyes and a captivating smile. Inquisitive, mischievous, stubborn, a dry sense of humour and to the point, which he acquired from his grandmother. Meticulous in his personal appearance, care of his home and vehicles. He had a strong work ethic, a Plumber by trade, Bob was always on call to help out friends & family. An extremely gifted athlete, winning numerous awards in track & field, baseball, etc. at Rhein's annual sports day. His high school years also Included basketball, football and volleyball. Bob's greatest passion was playing hockey - Best Goalie of the year for many Junior Hockey Teams. He loved being outside, even on the coldest day of the year. Happy moments were with friends and family on the Golf course, curling, hunting & fishing and of course those early morning coffee times with friends. When Bob finally fulfilled his life long dream of owning a motor cycle again, both Bob & Launa purchased Harley's and enjoyed many trips with their friends. Being outdoors was one of his favorite pastimes. Sometimes, overwhelmed with the stillness and the beauty of nature, whether he was on his boat, out in the bush, or just sitting in the back yard with Launa, he was in his happy place.
Bob was a proud father of Derek and Neil and their accomplishments in sports and their careers, and the very best grandfather to Gabriel, having an Ice cream cone together or just being together. Bob always said Launa was the best choice he made in his life. He loved and adored her passionately. He cared deeply for his parents, especially in their later years. Often being the bearer of sad news, chauffer for Dr appointments or just simply checking in with them.
Bob was predeceased by his parents, brothers David & Scott and sister Elizabeth (Betty). He leaves to mourn his passing his adoring wife Launa; sons Derek & Neil and their mother Jocelyn; grandson Gabriel; brother-in-Law Wayne (Betty); sisters: Beryl (Sheldon); Jackie; and Janet (Don). Also Launa's mother Violet Churko, brothers: Cyril and Andy (Donna) Churko; sisters: Linda (Tom), Marie (Robert) and Diane, numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and good friends.
