Obituary of Irene Gehring

Mrs. Irene Gehring widow of Louis Gehring, passed away on October 2, 2019 at the age of 92 years. Prayers will be held on Friday, October 4 at 7:00p.m. from the Chapel of Bailey's Funeral Home, Melville. The funeral mass will take place on Saturday, October 5 at 10:00a.m. from St. Henry's Roman Catholic Church. A private family interment will be held the following day. Memorials in memory of Irene may be made to Mass Offerings, Church Memorial Fund or St. Henry's Parish Cemetery fund as gifts of remembrance. Irene Gehring (nee KIus) of Melville, Saskatchewan peacefully entered her eternal rest on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at St. Paul's Lutheran Home. She was ninety-two years of age. Irene was born January 2, 1927 at Goodeve, Saskatchewan, daughter to John and Mary Klus. Irene was raised on the family farm in Goodeve and received her education in Goodeve. She was united in marriage to Louis Gehring on September 29, 1948 at Yorkton. Shortly after Louis and Irene moved to Melville where they worked and raised their family. Mom's love language was preparing copious amounts of food and baking to share with her family around the kitchen table. She has struggled with her health in recent years and has missed Dad dearly since his passing. Amidst the sadness we find comfort knowing Mom and Dad are now reunited. Irene was predeceased by her husband Louis on November 13, 2003, her parents, sisters Kay, Mary, Helen, Sophie, Rose, Anne and Minnie, brothers Bill, John, Steve, Mike, Henry, Melvin, Roman and Joseph. She leaves to cherish her memory her three daughters Darnadell, Ember (Thomas) and Crystal (Rick); grandchildren Chantel (Jason), Logan (Paul), Kyle (Jennifer) and Meghan (Victor); great grandchildren Keagan, Jaxson and Harlem; brother Raymond (Christine); sisters-in-law Mary and Lucy; as well as numerous nieces, nephew, relatives and friends.
