I ran into Gerry Vandane at the Eagles concert in Regina on Thursday night and he shared with me the very sad news of Jason's passing. "Schoff" was a great guy. We saw lots of each other back in our Watrous "turn around" days, then of course, later in Biggar and Melville when CN implemented extended runs. I also worked with Jason in Jasper during the Great Recession days of '82 and '83 and was always happy to have a few beers with him and swap stories at the Whistle Stop. Sandra and I send our deepest condolences, thoughts and prayers to the entire Schoffer family at this most difficult time. Cheers Brother Jason and I'll see you on the other side...

Holly, Jayla, Brandon and the Schoffer Family, Our Deepest Sympathy. It is with Sadness we learned of Jason's passing, I have fond memories growing up on the west end of Melville, playing shinny at Miller school and football at Pankiw's field. Early in our railroad careers, a group of Melville guys went out to Jasper Alberta to work, and had many many Good times, Friendships and Memories forged for life! Rest Easy Schoff, Will catch up to You, Ray and Scrapper one day at the Whistle Stop!
