As kids growing up on the farm, our social life was our cousins. Of course, with those cousins came the aunts and uncles. Many many visits with Uncle Freddy, Auntie Nettie, Jerry and Russell were enjoyed over those years growing up on the farm. I remember sitting between the adults during their regular card playing to be totally entertained by Uncle Freddy and Aunty Nettie. "Nine No!" Was Uncle Freddy's battlecry in their heated games of Trika. Uncle Freddy was one of the few who called our Mom, Jeannette. Most people called her Janet, but I can still hear Uncle Fred saying "Jeannette". I can also remember his conversation starter: "They say...." and off he would go with interesting or controversial "fact". He was also famous for kicking us youngsters our of the comfy recliner. He'd say "You look too comfortable in that chair" and off we'd go. I remember the wrestling between Russell and Uncle Freddy. I actually have a photo of one such wrestling match that took place on one of the beds upstairs on our farm house. They would go at it, laughing, turning red, and having a great old time. We also remember Uncle Freddy's love of the Lake. I could to on and on. So many happy memories of Uncle Freddy. Those were special times. He will be warmly remembered. He was a good man.

What can you say about Uncle Fred that hasn't already been said? T He loved life and he especially loved his family and that included his pets. I don't think he ever let things get him down. And so we say good bye to a truly wonderful man. We will be thinking of you and would like to extend our deepest sympathies to you and your family. He will be missed but cherished in our memories. He is at peace. Cheryl, Ian and Louisa

I will never forget the many summers we spent together at the farm while growing up. Many life lessons were learning but perhaps most valuable was the importance of family. Uncle Fred will live on in our memories.
