Dear Trent and family,
I'm so sorry to hear of Gerry's passing. During my freshman year at the Yorkton Collegiate I spent several weeks staying with Gerry and Ernie at their home on West Broadway and on Lincoln avenue. Gerry was my cousin but more like an older sister to me and we spent many a happy time together. Over the years on my visits home to Yorkton and Rokeby I could always count on a good visit Gerry. We both kept family records on the MacKenzies and MacLennans so would compare notes on our latest findings. I know that she so enjoyed her time with her grandchildren as she would bring me up to date on their activities and share several photos. I, as well as my husband and girls will always treasure our visits with her.

My deepest sympathies to Gerry’s family. In my little girl mind, she was a television star as I watched her on our first black & white TV. Decades later, I found her again. This time, in my office with her trusty little calendar in hand . As the retired director of Volunteer Resources with the Sunrise Health Region, I was one of the beneficiaries of her many generous hours of dedicated volunteer service, which began long before my arrival and went on after my retirement. While she was supportive of the work our Dept undertook, my best memories tend to be of the pride she had in her family. Pictures of her son & daughter-in-law and grandkids, stories of her last grandbaby in the tent they made or plans to head to Regina to be a resident babysitter, or pride in the scholastic or extra curricular activities of the kids were just part of the conversation while checking that calendar to see if she could help us with a date on which we needed some service - and there was always time for a visit to the “fairy garden” with Emily. It sounds like her last days were spent exactly as she would have liked, and for that I’m happy for her, and for her family. Gerry surely left her mark in the world. May she rest in gentle peace.

I have great memories of Gerry from the family reunions and her visits to Ottawa. She welcomed myself and the kids on our cross Canada drive in 2013. She hopped in her car and toured us around Yorkton and out to visit family and their farms, swung by a family members home so I could use their washroom. She was a remarkable woman full of warmth and kindness, and will be greatly missed by us all. My deepest condolences to you all.

One of the highlights of my young childhood was when my Uncle Linus invited my sibling and I to be on Shamrock Side of the Morning and I had the honour of sitting on the stool beside Gerry. I was so excited to be there on TV beside this beautiful lady with the big smile and sparkling eyes! She was a movie star to me! She knew how to get the conversation going and talked with me about ‘Dad’s Cookies’. Of course the interview went well because she met people where they were at and understood children. Thank you for this happy memory. Rest in Peace Gerry.
With our sincere condolences to the family,
Yvonne Parker (Millette) and Dale Parker

It was really something to have a famous Aunt Gerry growing up in the village of Togo. She was always bright and positive, someone to admire. Her TV show was great for the community. I remember being her guest once to cook live crawfish and eat them on the air. We had many more lunches and visits over the years. Best wishes to the family.

What a great lady and was an honour to have known her. We were both on the Board of Directors for Parkland Victim Services for many years. She was so dedicated to this organization and others she will be missed. Thoughts and prayers with the family.

Gerry was a wonderful neighbour. We lived next door to Gerry and Ernie on Lincoln Avenue in Yorkton in the early 70's. Both Gerry and Ernie were very friendly and great neighbours. My sons Lee and Darren played with Trent as well as went to school with him for a few years before we moved to Alberta. My condolences to Trent and his family.

I first met Gerry when she interviewed me. We immediately clicked but, in retrospect, she likely made everyone feel that way. Over the years, there were many occasions afforded us when we would tell each other how we wished that we could spend ‘real” time together. Always thoughtful, delightfully quick-witted and decent-to-the core, Gerry illuminated the qualities that made one long to be with her.
In the early nineties, I had the honour of presenting her with the Saskatchewan Volunteer Medal, a distinction she definitely earned. Gerry exemplified every aspect of why this Medal was created - a selfless dedication to making communities better.
To her beloved family and dear friends, I extend my sincerest condolences. May you find solace in sharing stories of this beautiful being.
Our province was enhanced by Gerry’s time on earth. What more could one ask than to live such a purposeful life. How fortunate we all are to have known her.

Gerry Peppler....and incredible lady. Had the pleasure of working with her for over 25 years
and as mentioned in her obituary...."she was a mover and shaker"
What an impact she made on television and in the community and in so many volunteer efforts.
