Obituary of Murray Williams
The family of Murray Williams of Yorkton, beloved partner of Sandra Karapeta, sadly announce his passing on December 13, 2024. He was 86 years of age.
As per Murray's wishes, no funeral service will be held.
Memorial donations in memory of Murray Williams may be made to the Burgis Beach Playground Fund as gifts of remembrance.
Arrangements are entrusted to Bailey's Funeral Home and Cremation Care.
Murray Robert Williams was born on March 24, 1938, to Robert and Louella (Carlson) Williams in Radville, Saskatchewan. Shortly after the family moved to North Battleford where Murray received his education and graduated.
After completing school, Murray worked for Crown Lumber for many years. Murray was also employed with Coca-Cola, as an investor insurance representative with Investor’s Group then Great West Life, retiring in 2020.
Murray was very active in any community he lived. In Yorkton, he was involved in the Lion’s Club, Rotary Club, Kinsmen, Yorkton Lodge, Shriners, the Canadian Cancer Society, and the Parkview Condo Association to name a few.
His favourite spot was the cabin at Burgis Beach, where he met many true friends. He enjoyed family coming out, playing cards, and camp fires. Again, he was very involved with the cabin association.
His favourite pastimes were reading many books, crossword puzzles, and watching sports and the news on TV.
Murray was predeceased by his parents Robert and Louella Williams, brother Allan Williams, sister Doreen Bouma, brother-in-law Delmer Karapeta, nephew Jordan, and his best furry friend and companion Echo.
Murray is survived by his loving partner Sandra Karapeta and her family Margaret Mushka, Tamara (Curtis) Mushka, Mary Jane (Brian) Sperling and their family, Jeff (Lindsay) and family, Jodi (Nick), Jerold (Annette) and family, Brenda Karapeta, niece Mandy (Adam) Hedegus and family, Riley (Sawyer) Karapeta; his children Warren, Darren, and Sandra; sister Lois (Ray) McNaught and family; sister-in-law Betty Ann Williams and family; special aunty and uncle Ruth and Lou Holmgrem; as well as many cousins and friends.
