Obituary of Olga "Ollie" Buchko

Olga Buchko February 14, 1029 - June 6, 2021 Olga Buchko peacefully transitioned into the next realm on June 6, 2021. Ollie (Olga) Buchko was born February 14, 1929 in the Lunnville District, Ituna, Sask. She was the daughter of William Bohach and Justina Dorosh. Ollie married William (Bill) Buchko on October 19, 1947 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Ukrainian Catholic Church. For over 50 years she was an active member of the UCWLC and the parish choir. She excelled in cross stitch designing and embroidering, for which she won several awards. One of her pictures was presented to Dr. Lynda Haverstock, Lieutenant Governor of Sask. She also decorated cakes for a variety of occasions. One being a replica of the St. Ann's Home made to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the sisters service in Ituna. It was a challenge for Ollie to pursue the search for her sister-in-law, Ann Buchko's son who was given up for adoption at birth. After numerous phone calls and trips, she was successful in locating him (Lloyd Stadler). She also spent countless hours drawing up a map of the Sacred Heart Church Cemetery before the upgrading began. Brother-in-law; Gerald Gallant of Hamilton, ON - 1992. Sisters-in-law: Stella (John) - 2000, Mary (Bernie) - 2012, Wanda (Mike) - 2013, Olga (Peter) - 2014, Ann (Nick) - 2018 and Nephew Larry Bohach - 1988. Leaving to cherish Olga's memory; Daughter Deborah Ann (Dennis) Wengrowich of Ituna and Son Dale (Denise) Buchko of Regina. Gandchildren: Desiree Wengrowich of Winnipeg, Devin (D-Nay) Wengrowich of Ituna, Dore (Steve) Bakouris of Kelowna, Damara Buchko of Regina, Denee (Tim) Buchko of Regina.
