My most heartfelt sympathies to Martha's immediate and extended loving family. You were her rock and her pride and joy. It's such a blow, even when expected. I moved next door to Martha in 2012, and she welcomed me with a container of still warm beetniks, wearing her much-hated wig from the cancer battle she had just won. I knew I had picked the right house. We forged a friendship that death can never end. The next 2 years were full of birthday cakes, coffee parties, laughter, tears, wine giggles, and gardening consults. You couldn't drop in without getting fed. I mowed her easement; she taught me to make perogies. She became one my 3 Ukranian sisters from another mother. One summer's day, we decided unwisely to hack an opening in the lilac hedge between our houses so we could visit easier. How could you not love her? We all looked after each other on 4th Avenue NE and remain in each other's hearts forever. Love you, miss you Marth Lois
